Zere (Zere Asylbek) is an artist from Kyrgyzstan whose work bridges music, theatre, and performance, exploring themes of identity, gender, and social justice. She gained international attention in 2018 with her feminist manifesto “Kyz” and has since released two full-length albums — EKÉK (2021) and Men Kaidamyn (Where Am I) (2023) — expanding her practice into experimental and deeply personal territory.

In 2020, she co-founded the feminist movement #Jetishet. In 2024, she was selected as a OneBeat 13 Fellow (USA), joining a global network of artists fostering intercultural collaboration through music and social engagement.

Her advocacy has also been recognized on international stages, including a performance for UN Women’s “I am Generation Equality” Forum in Geneva, Switzerland in 2019, affirming her role as a prominent cultural voice.
